Wildcats Trounce Eagles

Coming off a historic win against John Burroughs, the Wildcats spoiled homecoming at Christian High, winning 45-28. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead, capitalizing on a botched punt deep in Wildcat territory and a key fourth down conversion to score the game’s first touchdown.

On the next drive, the Wildcats drove the ball down the field behind a long catch from Dyllan Conway but had to settle for an Andrew Kempen, freshman, field goal. The Eagles answered right back, however, and drove the length of the field for another touchdown, hitting a wide open man to widen their lead.

The Wildcats would score the next 35 points and they put the game away. Dyllan Conway had four total touchdowns, and Steve Webb, junior, added another score. After a shaky first quarter, the Wildcat defense stood tall, shutting down the athletic dual-threat quarterback from Christian High. Zach Hughes, senior, lead the charge with a key interception in the end zone and a pass break up. The linebackers, lead by Connor Hafenrichter, senior, asserted their will and controlled the run game.

The Wildcats play next Saturday at the Carnival game at 1:00pm. Be sure to check out the Blue Crew booth!
