The BIG Game

Beating John Burroughs on Spirit Night has become a tradition for the Westminster basketball team and this year was no different.

Lead by Aaron Cook’s 28 points and multiple thunderous dunks, the Wildcats claimed another Spirit Night win. The Cats started out hot, but Burroughs quickly fought back to even the score at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Wildcats stole away all of the momentum with a vicious dunk by Aaron Cook. The Cats took a big lead into the half and never looked back.

At the half, the Varsity Dance Team flawlessly preformed their award winning Hip-Hop routine.

In the second half, the Wildcats continued to pull away behind the three-point shooting of seniors Nick Cacciarelli and Drew Melaragno. The Cats moved to 14-2 on the year with the victory and have reeled off 13 wins in a row.

“It was a big win for us” said Joel Johnson, senior, “everybody contributed and it was fun to play in front of such a great crowd”
