Wildcats Come Up Short, Lose to Principia
- Updated: 09/17/2015
Varsity soccer dropped a closely contested game tonight against Principia. Despite the hard fought battle, Westminster came out on the losing side of a game that could have gone either way. First half play was even, with WCA having a few dangerous chances on goal. Despite the offensive threat, the two teams would head into halftime deadlocked 0-0.
Coming into the second half, the game opened up significantly, and play was much more wide open. Principia would strike first, with twenty minutes left in the game, holding a 1-0 lead. But the Wildcats would not give in, and would even things up with fifteen minutes left when Junior Connor Dolan hauled a long ball from the halfline and Frankie Sacco, Sophomore, calmly put the ball in the back of the net. But Principia would again take the lead in the final minutes of the game, and this time put it out of reach with a 2-1 lead.
The Wildcats continue their season next Wednesday at 4:15 against Priory.
