Aaron Cook pushed the ball in transition. Steve Webb muscled his way inside. Cliff DeGroot hit from three point range.

A new season brings about a new Westminster Wildcat basketball team. Gone are the days of winning games inside with 6’7 Power Forwards. The new era of Wildcat basketball brings a fast paced style of play unmatched at any school. The squad has up to four guards on the court at a time and puts pressure on the other team with their athletic ability.

Despite a weak showing from the Blue Crew, the Wildcats managed to take down Lutheran North on Social Media Night, avenging a buzzer beater loss last season. After a slow first quarter, the Cats jumped out to a 36-23 lead at the half and never looked back winning 69-58. Aaron Cook, senior, lead all scorers with 22 points.

With two minutes left in the game, the Crusaders cut the lead to 8 but Cliff DeGroot, junior, buried them with key three-pointers.

On the game, Coach Coleman commented that it was “awesome”.
