On a fair weather day, the Wildcats were tousled about and lost to John Burroughs 28-12.
John Burroughs came out of the locker room and never looked back, scoring on a 1 yard run by Jake Bain on the opening drive. The Wildcats were able to block the extra point, 6-0 JBS
When the Wildcats had their turn, they were easily stopped. The Bombers then capitalized at the start of the 2nd quarter on a 24 yard pass from Tyler Foote to Ian Dankner, but again they failed on a 2pt conversion, 12-0 JBS.
The Wildcats couldn’t get anything going in the 1st half, giving up another 30 yard touchdown pass from Foote to Patrick Bolsner, and again JBS failed on the 2pt conversion, 18-0 JBS.
The Wildcats would look to get any kind of points at the end of the 1st half but were again denied by the JBS defense.
John Burroughs would continue their domination in the game, scoring again in the 2nd quarter from Foote to Nick Booker.
Emboldened by the will to not get shutout like how JBS did to Priory (27-0) last week, the Wildcats finally got on the board in the 3rd quarter, scoring on a 27 yard run by Steve Webb but failed to capture the 2pt conversion, leaving the bombers up 18-6.
In the 4th quarter, the Bombers would then storm down the field but were stopped by the Wildcat defense. They settled on a 35 yard kick by Suleman to get a larger 21-6 lead.
The Wildcats would battle back in the final moments of the game, scoring on a 3 yard pass from Josh Pottebaum to Steve Webb, failing the extra point and giving the game’s final score of 28-12 John Burroughs.
