NFL Divisional Championship Games Predictions

Preston Willis

The NFC Championship game is between the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons. The AFC Championship game is between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots. Let’s dive in.

When it comes to hot quarterbacks, everyone talks about Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers. Matt Ryan had a Quarterback rating of 125.7 in his last playoff game, in addition to leading the league in passing yards during the regular season. On the other hand, Aaron Rodgers did not start off the season so well, but in his last ten games he has averaged a Quarterback rating of 116.7, but even this does not show the expertise he has been playing with. The Atlanta Falcons allow 250 passing yards a game, which is 28th in the NFL, while the Green Bay Packers also allow 250 yards per game. Both secondaries are very weak, but these two teams are not successful because of their defense. My prediction is that this contest will be a very high scoring game, but the Atlanta Falcons will beat the Green Bay Packers 38-35.

Onto the next game, which features the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots. All the stats are in favor of the Pats, and there is not really any reason to bet against them. The only reasons anyone would bet against New England is because Rob Gronkowski is injured or other “mysterious circumstances” that have plagued opposing teams in the past, but that has not deterred them in the past. Here is the one thing the Steelers have going for them: the Steelers have the three B’s. Le’veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown, that is enough said. The Patriots are the better team on paper, and they have been all season, but I’m taking the Steelers to win this game 28-17.
