The Ice Cats are currently seeded first in the Wickenheiser Cup. They take on MICDS tonight in game two of the three game series. Although the Wildcats dominated all but the last five minutes in game one, and it ended in a 4-4 draw. A key to the team’s success tonight is steady play from senior Jason Kelly. Kelly leads the team in both goals and points on the season. He enters tonight’s game with 21 goals, 19 assists, 40 points, and a hat trick. He has had success by getting fed in front of the net by his young teammates. A huge key to coming out with tonight’s win is putting up a lot of shots and creating traffic in front of the net. However, Kelly looks to do the assisting rather than the scoring tonight. When asked how he was going to contribute, he said “I’m going to work hard on moving the puck and setting up my guys with quality shots.” The key players he looks to set up are senior Zach Nall and sophomore stud Jack Canfield who have a combined 45 points on the season. The puck drops tonight at 9:30 at Hardee’s Ice Plex. The Blue Crew plays a significant part in the Ice Cats performance, so they must show their support by being rowdy tonight!
