The Wildcats improved to 13-1 on the season with a dominating 10-0 win over the defending class 4 state champions, MICDS Rams. Westminster’s starting pitcher, DJ Stewart, shut down the Rams (1-3) through five innings, giving up only three hits and striking out seven en route to his third victory of the season. Logan Sells and Nathaniel Sems led the Wildcats offensively with three hits each and Dominic Cusumano and Weston Schad both hit triples and added a pair of singles to pace Westminster and their ten runs. The Wildcats continue their season series with MICDS on Friday afternoon at 4:15 at Westminster.

Westminster bested MICDS for the second consecutive day, scoring twelve runs in the bottom of the second innings en route to a 19-6 win. The Rams (1-4) jumped out to a three run lead in the top of the inning, but the Wildcats (14-1) roared back with twelve runs behind Dominic Cusumano’s triple and DJ Stewart’s two RBI single to left field. Wildcat starter, Matt Ottsen, was able to scatter the Rams’ eight hits, allowing six runs and striking out five batters through five innings. Kevin Graham contributed with two hits and two RBI’s and Weston Schad also knocked in a pair of runs on a base hit into left field. Off to one of the best starts in Westminster history, the varsity baseball team looks to continue their success heading into a Saturday double header at Orchard Farms.
