The Westminster swim team is looking forward to continue their success from last year into the 2017 season. Led by star diver Chris Kirby and reliable swimmers Jak Patterson and Jesse Parham, the Cats look to continue their success in the pool this year. Chris was a standout diver in the metro league last year as he twisted, turned, and flipped in the air. Jak Patterson told me, “We came close to winning our conference last year and so this year our main goal is to win conference.”
There is a lot of solid talent this year on the team so expections for the boys are set pretty high. Jak said, “As seniors, this being our last season we want to get far and make this a memorable season not just for us but for all the guys.
This year the swim team has the biggest team they’ve had in a long time. The team consists of a total of 44 swimmers and divers. Coach Kempen said, “Since we have a big team this year compared to last year, we are expecting a lot from the boys this year.”
The Cats kick of their season next week here at home. Come out and support the swim team!
