Crusaders Annihilate Cats, Team drops to 1-2

Coach Keith Herring and The Varsity Football Team fell to 1-2 for the season after a crushing loss to a very talented Lutheran North Football Team, 59-17. Throughout the game the Wildcats had issues containing Lutheran North’s explosive rushing attack lead by Arkansas State commit Donovan Marshall.

Coach Herring commented on the lost and said, “We need to have more grit and work to get one percent better each day at practice this week.” Even though the Wildcats were beat handily there are many positives to be taken away and many players had very good games. Center Luke Vassal did a great job neutralizing 4 star Lutheran North Defensive Lineman Ronnie Perkins. Running Back Atlin Hall scored a touchdown, had many impressive tackles, and broke a record on a 96 Yard kickoff return for the longest scoring play in WCA History. Defensive End Isaac Johnston had 10 Total Tackles and a sack.

Many players are excited for the Opportunity to respond to this loss in a big way vs John Burroughs this saturday including Linebacker Levi Alldredge who said, “We played a tough team in Lutheran North this past weekend, but the loss is acting as motivation to come out next saturday and compete against Burroughs.” Right Guard Patty Andrews also commented on the game he said,” That game doesn’t define us, and we need to learn from our mistakes and move on to John Burroughs.”

The Wildcats are looking to win a crucial rivalry game at 1:00 this Saturday at home so be sure to pop out and cheer the team on.
