Wrestlers Look to Make State Run

After a great 2016-2017 season that saw 3 wrestlers make the state tournament and with plenty of talent at his disposal, Coach Muehleisen looks to improve and keep developing young men to become champions on and off the mat.

Coach Muehleisen had this to say, “My goal for this season is to get the freshman acclimated and to continue to develop and grow men.”

The Cats will be lead by Junior Patrick Andrews, Senior Jessie Parham, and star senior wrestler Charlie Mccracken. Patrick and Charlie made it all the way to the state tournament where Charlie placed fifth. Charlie is looking to wrestle at the 220 weight class and is primed and ready to dominate and destroy those who stand in has path towards a state championship.

“I’m looking for a state title this year” said McCracken, “I believe it is very high chance of it happening because I have been putting in the work. I work out 7 times a week, nobody is working harder.”

One wrestler to look out for this year is Jessie Parham. Jessie suffered a shoulder injury that hindered him from paying last season. Jessie made state his freshman and sophomore year and is now fully healthy and geared to make a run at state

The Cats will also be replacing a lot of key veterans including JT Fuller, Blake Potter, and state qualifier Lucas Chimento. However the wrestling team has many young underclassman that could contribute including Clayton Perona and a handful of other underclassmen ready to become strong members of the team. This is a strong and talented group of young men being led by one of the best wrestling coaches in the area. This year is shaping up to be a very special one for the Wrestling team.
