Men’s Volleyball Preview

WESTMINSTER, MO– In 2015 the Wildcats took home the Class 3 State Title, going 25-11 lead by Cam Hibbler. However, the following season they lost 5 out of their 6 starters, leading them to only a single win on the year. Now, coming off of a 9-19 season, the Westminster Men’s Volleyball team looks to continue the rebuilding of the program and get back to their winning ways.

With the additions of juniors Jerram Adams (OH), Kyle Dolan (OH), and Maxwell Burns (MB), the Cats are poised to be a real threat in the Metro League this year. The new juniors bring much-needed height to the Wildcats roster, measuring in at 6’2”, 6’3”, and 6’5” respectively.
“We’ve struggled with height in the past,” commented second-year head coach Brandyn Crutcher, “so the new height is really going to be a huge asset this year.”

The Cats are also looking for captains Mason Andrasko (sophomore, MB) and Colin Davitt (junior, S), and Kyle Dolan (junior, OH) to have big years.

As a freshman, Andrasko was second on the team in blocks with 25 and third on the team in kills with 52. This year he looks to more than double those numbers as he steps into a more demanding role on the team.

Davitt led the team in serving (over 80 Srvs min) with an impressive percentage at 95.8% and held the highest efficiency at +16.8.

Despite having not played a point on a Westminster volleyball team, Kyle Dolan received the last bid for the Captains role. However, Dolan is not new to the game. Having played club volleyball, Dolan is ready to help lead the team through his experience.

The Cats open their season off with a home game vs Lutheran St. Charles Monday @5:15
