Wildcats Trounce Crusaders

From the opening whistle of the game the Cats imposed their will on a weary Lutheran North Crusaders team. The Wildcats jumped out to a 7-0 lead on a Dyllan Conway, junior, touchdown catch on a beautifully thrown ball from senior quarterback Evan Johnson. Steve Webb, junior, extended the lead to 14-0 and the Westminster offensive line won the line of scrimmage to escort him into the end zone.

The Wildcat defense played tough all day long. Corners Nick Ebel and Drew Melaragno, seniors, played lock down coverage all day. Cameron Tucker, senior returned a tipped pass for score, his first defensive touchdown of the young season. In the third quarter, Steve Webb made the defensive play of the year, ripping the ball from a Lutheran North receiver and running it all the way back for a touchdown.

Of the play, Wildcat PA announcer Luke Davis said ,”that wasn’t a forced fumble, that was simply highway robbery.”

Back on offense, Webb scored on a short 5-yard scamper, pushing the lead to 35-0. The Crusaders scored a garbage time touchdown, but had the extra point blocked. The Wildcat’s play a big conference game next Saturday at 2:00pm at MICDS.
