Cats Fall to State Runner- Ups
- Updated: 09/16/2015
Coming of their first win of the season, the cats, looked to continue their winning fortunes Wednesday against MICDS, last season’s state runner- ups.
Right off the bat, MICDS asserted their dominance, scoring second into the game on a scrum inside the box. They then added two more not long after, making it 3-0 with 20:00 to go in the half.
Moments later, MICDS notched another tally on a nice shot from the right side, and again at the 11:40 mark, on a well placed turn- around shot that found it way through the crowd in front of the net.
Westminster struggled to get anything going offensively against the Rams swarming defense. They did, however, get a wonderful opportunity at the 8:18 mark in the first half. It all started with a well placed through pass from Lucy Kerh, Senior, to Taylor Sierbermam, Sophomore. She then sent a great cross in from of the net, but it was unable to be redirected and the opportunity passed.
The Rams added three more goals in the second half, bringing the final tally to 7-0 in favor of the Rams.
Catch the cats back in action tomorrow at 5:15 against Edwardville.
