Futbol Cats Fall to Pattonville in the Rain

Westminster lost in the rain tonight against Pattonville, 2-1. It was a tight match for most of the first half until Senior Sam Hunsicker finished a nice shot just six minutes before the half. With a 1-0 lead, the Wildcats looked to put the game away at the start of the second half, but a solid Pattonville team fought hard (now enduring a driving rain) and were able to even the score 1-1 half way through. Then with fifteen minutes left in the game, Pattonville took the lead when a shot took a fortunate deflection off of their forward and found the back of the net. The Wildcats would fight hard to find an equalizer, but it was to no avail, and the game ended 2-1 in favor of Pattonville. Varsity soccer will continue their season on Friday at Clayton at 5:45, and would appreciate a big turnout from the Blue Crew.
